I’m sure you all have heard that the newest expansion of World of Warcraft, Mists of Pandaria is coming out. The target is for the forth quarter of 2012. So, guessing, this would likely be sometime in November.
People have long wanted the Pandaren race. People were overjoyed when the Pandaren Monk pet came out for Make-A-Wish charity. To anyone whom bought one during the charity event, thank you from a Make-A-Wish kid himself! It’s an exciting time and an exciting expansion because this is a long wanted and seemingly mythological race of World of Warcraft. Nobody knew for sure if they really existed or not.
The Pandaren have been fiercely neutral. For good reason, I should say. But, I’m a bit saddened to see they’d get a choice to go Horde or Alliance instead of starting up their own neutral faction. Oh well, I’d probably go horde with mine. Yes, I plan on making a Pandaren. Probably not at launch, but sometime after. I want to make a monk. I don’t know why, but, I thought they looked awesome in the videos.
So, with this expansion about a year away… I decided I shouldn’t focus too much on gearing up right now. I know it’s unlikely for me to go see Firelands or that new raid that is coming out. I’m not going to shell large amounts of gold to get Bind upon Equip items to just stay at the top of my game. I want to play to have fun. Gold is an issue in early expansions when you want to get new shiny gear to push yourself behind. I assume this will be true in Mists of Pandaria.
I have decided to make a goal of 100,000 gold by November 1, 2012. Yes, that is a massive amount of gold! But, look at it this way, that date is 350 days away (next year is a leap). I will be starting at a total of 5,624 gold. So, this puts me 94,376 gold away! Whew! That’s still a massive chunk right? Well, let’s divide it down to monthly goals: 94 376 / 11.66 = 8,094 gold each month (every 30 days). That’s a lot still! I divided by 11.66 because it’s not a full month, so I have one halfie!
So, now let’s break it up further. Would a weekly goal do me better? There would be 50 weeks left according to 350 / 7. So hence, 94,376 / 50 = 1,887 gold and 52 silver a week. That’s still a high chunk to some at a time. But, let’s break it down daily. 94,376 / 350 = 269 gold and 65 silver a day! Now that daily goal is very, very, manageable! Right?
The challenge to me is not making the gold… It’s saving it! So, hence, I decided to track my gold in my sidebar on this blog for gaming purposes. It’d help keep me motivated toward my goal! Let’s go for the hundred thousand gold marker!
